Huoi Quang hydropower plant with installed capacity of 520MW is built on Nam Mu river in Lai Chau and Son La provinces.
The project was built in 6 years and is expected to generate unit 1 in 2012, Unit 2 in 2013.
In addition to supplying the national electricity system with an annual electricity output of over 1.9 billion kWh, the project is also linked to the goal of regulating the water flow for the Red River downstream, creating a driving force for socio- The Northwest, especially Lai Chau and Son La provinces.
